Grant for the explAInation project proposal from the DFG

We are happy to announce that Martin Dyrba has received a grant for the explAInation project proposal from the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project will start in early summer and will continue for three years. The project will focus “explainable artificial intelligence”, where machine learning models should not only make decisions but also provide human-understandable explanations for how they reach their conclusions.

In the project, we will work on a neural network system architecture that can provide visual and textual explanations for medical images and image patterns of diagnostic relevance. This system shall be able to extract relevant information and dynamically generate descriptive explanations of varying granularity on demand.

We are currently looking for a new team member to work in this project. Find further details at https://explaination.net
