New institute of Visual & Analytic Computing (VAC) has been founded.

MMIS joins the new Institute of Visual & Analytic Computing (VAC) which has been founded as part of the Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Rostock. With the new institute, computer science at the University of Rostock is focusing its expertise in analyzing data by means of developing and applying methods of visualization, artificial intelligence, modeling and simulation. The following professors are the founding members of VAC: Thomas Kirste, Heidrun Schumann, Oliver Staadt,  and Adelinde Uhrmacher. More information (in german).
